Ukrainian Refugees: Current and Future Challenges

On Thursday evening, 13 October, Ukrainian Ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, and prominent members of the local Ukrainian community - Dr Tanya Dus and Mr Stefan Romaniw, OAM - participated in a panel dicussion about the humanitarian issues associated with the impact of the current conflict. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Where were we? Where are we now? What do we need to learn so we do better in the future?

A novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, causes COVID-19. This virus spreads readily from person to person but almost entirely via infectious particles that deposit in the upper respiratory tract. They are inhaled or reach the respiratory tract via people's eyes. Larger particles (often called droplets) are the main way of spread - but not the only way.

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies: History, Neuroscience and Myths

Renowned researcher and psychiatrist Professor David Nutt is director of the Neuropsychopharmacology Unit in the Division of Brain Sciences at Imperial College, London.

In this public lecture hosted by the Australian National University (ANU) School of Medicine and Psychology, Professor Nutt will explore the resurgence of psychedelic plants and fungi to treat chronic mental ill-health, and the revolution of research and clinical treatments currently underway in Australia and globally.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session.
