Communicating Endo Through Art

A public exhibition of works by artists from around the world was produced and coordinated by artist and medicine PhD student Susanne Ilschner. The exhibition draws on her interdisciplinary doctorate on endometriosis. Communicating Endo Through Art was hosted at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research on 11 October 2022.  Described by Hon Jaala Pulford, Victorian Minister for Innovation, Medical Research and the Digital Economy as "An outstanding and innovative art-meets-science event." This work was funded through a grant from the ANU Gender Institute followed by an ArtsACT grant and has been invited to travel internationally. Susanne also gave a speech at the event about her artmaking process with women with endometriosis and discussed the specific responses to art works from artists who formed an international collective. This photo gallery highlights some of the works and artists featured at the exhbiition.
