General Practice Teaching in the ANU Doctor of Medicine and Surgery program

The Australian National University and ACT Health Directorate jointly fund the Academic Unit of General Practice.

Ensuring medical students have quality training experiences in General Practice is crucial to medical students in their journey to becoming a doctor. General practitioners are at the centre of the healthcare system. Australians see their GP more than any other health professional, with nine out of 10 people seeing their GP at least once a year.

'Silver Probe' anatomy prize celebrates 10th anniversary

Louis Szabo 'Silver Probe' Prize

Overview

The prize is a gift from Mr Louis Szabo, founding member of ANU Medical School Anatomy Laboratory. The prize has been awarded since 2010. In 2020 the prize celebrated its 10th anniversary with a morning tea at which Mr Szabo presented a commemorative plaque of the original crystal award mounted on a wooden background. The plaque includes the engraved names of past recipients of the prize. Future recipients of the prize will be added to the commemorative plaque.
