Farewell to Dr Zan-Min Song
On Friday, 30th April 2021, staff and students met to farewell Dr Zan-Min Song, who has been with The ANU since 2001.
Zan-Min joined ANU Medical School as a Senior Lecturer in Anatomy in 2004 where he taught anatomy in the medical program (MBBS/MChD) as well as the undergraduate ANU Human Anatomy course. He was the recipient of the Medical School Teaching Excellence in Phase 1 award in 2007 and 2014. Zan-Min was also a Student Year Coordinator for Phase 1 medical students from 2008 to 2021. His research in the field of neuroscience saw him leading the Song Group at JCSMR, studying brain abnormalities in rats with Hirschsprung’s disease.
Zan-Min’s contribution to the University and particularly the ANU Medical School, his sense of humour, kindness, humanity, gentlemanly behaviour and support of students and staff alike will be greatly missed, and we wish Zan-Min all the best for the future.
