Farewell Zsuzsoka Kecskes

After 21 years as a clinical and academic leader in Canberra, Professor Zsuzsoka Kecskes is leaving Canberra and the ANU.

Initially working with the Canberra Clinical School of the University of Sydney, Zsuzsoka was a founding member of the ANU Medical School in 2004. Additionally, she has worked as a neonatologist at Canberra Hospital since 2001.

Among her many accomplishments, Zsuzsoka was made a Professor at ANU in 2015, Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) of Phase 2 from 2015 to 2018, the Deputy Dean of the Medical School from 2018, and took over as Director of the Medical School in March 2020. She has also played an integral role in the planning process for the new School of Medicine and Psychology.

A heartfelt acknowledgement (with many tears shed) and celebration of her contribution to ANU was held on Thursday evening, 23 June. Her outstanding leadership will be sorely missed. We wish her all the best in her new role as Dean of Graduate Medicine at the University of Wollongong.
