Get to know...Dr Alexandra Tyson

Dr Alexandra Tyson

My role with students at ANU is....

Phase 2 Medical Advisor. I also am a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery program

I got into this role because...

A colleague of mine had been in the role and wanted to step down and suggested I might like to do it. It sounded interesting and very worthwhile, so I said yes.

The best part about my job is.....

Meeting students 1 on 1 and working with them to explore the issues they are experiencing and work towards something better.

A new skill I'd love to learn in an instant...

Drumming and making a lot of noise

Something new I want to learn this year...

Currently I have a plan to learn Auslan.

If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, it would be...

Somewhere above the Artic circle near forest & mountains so I can experience the cycle of the seasons.

The most adventurous thing I've ever done...

Mountain climbing in New Zealand.

I'm looking forward to...

My next holiday. Seeing family who are widely dispersed now. Walking the dog.

When I'm not working, you'll find me...

At the gym, walking the dog, cycling, bush walking, watching TV with a cat on my lap.
