From time to time events beyond our control require sometime away. This is normally not a problem and this time away can be requested to your year coordinator.
If you require leave this can be applied for by:
- If less than 3 consecutive days of planned leave is required your year coordinator can approve your leave immediately via email
- If more than 3 consecutive days of planned leave is required your year coordinator will require completion of a planned leave form. Longer than 5 consecutive days will need to be approved by the relative Associate Dean which your year coordinator will seek approval for on your behalf
- Once leave is approved, you will need to email the academic lead or tutor of the compulsory class to notify that you have approved leave. If suitable your year coordinator and academic lead/tutor can be emailed in a single email together, or for sensitive issues email just your year coordinator.
Everyone will have different ways of dealing with stress, and so what works for one person may not work for you. However, this link provides tips and tricks that have come from past ANU medical students about what has worked for them when they’re stressed or are dealing with issues related to medical school and life outside it. We recommend using these tips and tricks only as a way to back up the support given to you by your year coordinator or GP.
