Get to know...Kathleen Miles

Dr Kathleen Miles

Before joining ANU I...

worked at the Australian Institute of Sport supporting the high-performance athletes and teams who used the facilities in Canberra as well as interstate. Prior to this I lectured at the University of Canberra in a variety of exercise and biochemistry subjects.

My role is...

teaching biochemistry and nutrition in the MChD and Bachelor of Health Science programs, supporting student research projects and conducting my own research in the areas of sleep and nutrition.

The thing I'm looking forward to most in this role is...

learning from my students and colleagues.

If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, it would be...

Richmond, Melbourne, because I love the café lifestyle, and could head to Punt Road and watch my beloved Richmond Tigers train.

The most adventurous thing I've ever done is...

get a tattoo of my dog Lenny, a poodle with a huge personality.

I'm looking forward to...

having a holiday at Bermagui in winter when the seas are rough and nobody is around.

When I'm not working, you'll find me...

at a café with my dog or riding my bike

My happy hour order would be...

a wood-fire pizza and glass of mineral water -  I am not much of a drinker.
