Farewell and thank you

Dr Alex Currie

Dr Alex Currie is leaving us in mid-June to take up an exciting opportunity in Pathology in Brisbane, Queensland.

Alex joined the ANU Medical School in 2014 as an honorary academic Anatomical Pathologist employed by ACT Pathology, Canberra Health Services. She was the discipline lead for the Anatomical Pathology Medical School Program from 2019-2021.

Alex has made many significant contributions to the development and delivery of the Anatomical Pathology teaching program over the years. Her creativity was instrumental in the Schools rapid adaptation to online delivery and assessment in 2020 during the pandemic restrictions. She has also made significant contributions to the wider Medical School program through her membership on numerous phase and assessment committees over the last 7.5 years. Attesting to her skill as a teacher Alex won the best faculty teacher at ANU Medical School for the clinical phase in 2015.

We will miss Alex, who has been great fun to have around. As a sharp, perceptive, friendly, thoughtful, empathetic and enthusiastic person she is much admired by staff and students alike. Alex has been a wonderful person to work with and we wish her all the very best.
