Dr Christopher Kiely

Dr Kiely is a gastroenterologist, with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).  He studied at Sydney University (medicine), and undertook gastroenterology training at Royal North Shore Hospital, Canberra Hospital and Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK.

His research thesis concerns the fluctuations in the microbiome of patients with IBD. In addition, he is studying bacterial translocation across the intestinal mucosal barrier in patients with IBD.

Research interests

Inflammatory bowel disease; Primary sclerosing cholangitis; Microbiome; Crohn's disease; Ulcerative colitis.
