Vanessa Johnston is a Public Health Physician in the Population Health Protection and Prevention Division of ACT Health. She has held previous appointments at the Centre for Disease Control and at the Menzies School of Health Research in the Northern Territory.

Vanessa Johnston's research interests span chronic disease prevention and management, Indigenous health and refugee health.

Vanessa Johnston contributes to teaching in the Master of Philosophy (Applied Epidemiology), Doctor of Medicine and Surgery and the Master of Public Health postgraduate programs in the ANU College of Medicine, Biology and Environment.
