Professor Christian Lueck

Professor Lueck is an academic neurologist and former Director of the Neurology Department at the Canberra Hospital. 

Background

Professor Lueck trained in medicine at Cambridge University and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, UK. He trained in neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London, UK before moving to Edinburgh, UK, as a consultant neurologist where he was also honorary senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. In 2003 he moved to Canberra where he was the Head of the Department of Neurology for 12 years until 2022. He received a national award for excellence in university teaching from the Australian Learning and Teaching Council in 2010. He has a strong clinical interest in neuro-ophthalmology.

Neuro-ophthalmology: higher visual function, optic chiasm, idiopathic intracranial hypertension.

Neurology: stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis.
