MChD conjoint programs

MChD / MPhil

The conjoint Medicinae ac Chirurgiae Doctoranda Master of Philosophy (MChD / MPhil) program caters for students who have a desire to enter the medical profession but also possess an avid interest in cutting edge research.

This degree is available to MChD students by deferral after successful completion of their 2nd year and approval of a research plan from the Director of the Medical School.

MChD / PhD

The conjoint Medicinae ac Chirurgiae Doctoranda / Doctor of Philosopy (MChD / PhD) program caters for students who have a desire to enter the medical profession but also possess an avid interest in cutting edge research.

Students complete two years of full-time research between second and third year of the MChD followed by part-time research over years three and four as required. The conjoint program is only available for students who qualify for entry to a PhD program (H1 honours or equivalent) and who achieve a higher level performance in the Advanced Research Project course and/or subject to the approval of the Director of the Medical School.
