The ANU Medical Revue, performed live over three nights, has become a favourite event in the ANU Medical School calendar and is celebrating its eleventh year in 2017. Breaking from the traditional ‘sketch show’ format of faculty revues elsewhere, the ANU Med Revue has created its own unique style, following a themed storyline into which songs, dances, sketches – and of course many jokes! – are incorporated.
The show has been a sell-out success for the last ten years, and in 2016 received six nominations - winning three of these awards! - for the Canberra Area Theatre (CAT) Awards, including Best Original Work, Best Production of a Variety/Musical Show, and Best Performance by an Individual (Cathryn Youings).
It is entirely written, produced, directed, choreographed, managed and performed each year by medical students from all four year levels at the ANU Medical School.
Money raised from ticket sales is donated to charity, and last year (2016) the group raised $15,000 - up from $9,000 in 2015. The charity for both 2015 and 2016 was local Companion House, which assists refugees and survivors of torture and trauma.
Tickets are on sale now for this year’s Med Revue BED SIDE STORY from http://anumss.org/events/medrevue/
