ANU Medical School raises money for The Cancer Council

On Wednesday, 5th of April, the ANU Medical Students Society organised a BBQ and head shave to raise money for the ACT Cancer Council as part of the "Relay For Life" fundraising effort.

Martin Dobes, (Year 2 and ANUMedSoc President), Wayne Pippen (staff) and Ben Wilson (Year1), were some of the members of the Medical School who agreed to have their head shaved for The Cancer Council. The day was a big success with this event raising over $1,200 and bring the total raised so far to over $4,000.

The "Relay For Life" run is happening on Friday and Saturday the 6th and 7th of April, at The Australian Institute of Sport with about 40 ANU medical students participating.

The ACT Cancer Council is the ANUMedSoc’s official charity, and our goal is to raise around $10,000 per year to support their work.
