MChD / MPhil

The conjoint Medicinae ac Chirurgiae Doctoranda /  Master of Philosophy (MChD / MPhil) program caters for students who have a desire to enter the medical profession but also possess an avid interest in cutting edge research.

This one year degree is available by deferral to students who perform well and successfully complete their second year of the MChD and gain the Dean's approval of a research plan

MChD / PhD

The conjoint Medicinae ac Chirurgiae Doctoranda / Doctor of Philosopy (MChD / PhD) program caters for students who have a desire to enter the medical profession but also possess an avid interest in cutting edge research.

Students complete two years of full-time research either before beginning or between second and third year of the MChD. The first option is generally only available to students undertaking research in a similar field to their honours or masters degrees. The second option is available to students who perform well in the first two years of the MChD and gain the Dean’s approval of a research plan.
