Cardiovascular & renal disease

In the next ten years, the number of patients being treated for end-stage kidney disease is predicted to rise by 80 per cent.

Our research is directed at the interaction between such kidney disease and related disorders; advanced kidney disease is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular mortality and dialysis patients have a higher incidence of nutrient deficiency, sleep disorder and mental health disease.

We also have expertise in conducting cochrane systematic reviews in transplantation medicine and vasculitis and research in cardiology.
