The ANU Rural Medical Society (ARMS) 2013 Close the Gap Ceremony is on Saturday 27 April at the Australian National University, Canberra.  The day will begin in Canberra's Civic Centre, where ARMS will have a stall to raise public awareness of Indigenous health issues and to encourage members of the Canberra community to sign a pledge to help close the gap.  Please see attached program. An exhibition of photos taken by students on their Northern Territory medical placements will be displayed thoughout the day.  Each year ANU Medical School offers 3rd Year medical students the opportunity to undertake six week placements in the Northern Territory.  These placements are highly competitive as they provide a unique experience with a strong emphasis on Aboriginal health and cross-cultural education.  During the placement students have the opportunity to capture their experience in photograph format and enter them into the ARMS Northern Territory Photo Exhibition.
