In the first two years students will primarily study on campus for 4 days of each week; one day a week will be spent in the clinical setting. These parts of the course cannot be completed on a part-time basis.

Years 3 and 4 will be taught in the School of Clinical Medicine or in clinical settings in South East New South Wales. Students will rotate through the various blocks at different times. It is possible to complete this part of the course part-time. It is also possible to break study mid year and pick up at the same time next year.

A subgroup of Year 3 students will spend the entirety of their year in the Rural and Community Clinical School. These students will access core material via the internet and will receive tuition from local and visiting medical staff. Student learning will not take place within a related block structure but over the course of the entire year students will see a similar range of patient presentations as their city counterparts. The Year 3 barrier assessment is identical.
